i Laissez-faire describes in economics an environment in which transactions between private parties are free from state intervention, including restrictive regulations, taxes, tariffs and enforced monopolies. The phrase laissez-faire is French and literally means "let do".

Somalia is a country located in the Horn of Africa. In the recent years, as a consequence of the collapse of governmental authority that accompanied the civil war, piracy has emerged as a powerful economic activity in the waters off of the coast of Somalia.
