i Gurugu Mountain in Morocco is situated near the Spanish exclave Melilla. A hundred years ago the troops of Spain and the Rif Republic fought several bloody battles on the mountain. In this war, Spain used chemical weapons. At present, Gurugu is a place where migrants trying to enter Europe get ready for climbing over the fence in Melilla by building ladders and hooks needed for crossing the border.
