Jukka Yli-Lassila from Helsingin Sanomat, the biggest newspaper in Finland, asked my opinion for his article about the current centers of the art world. I think the center moves to where the star curators open shows and the richest collectors' private jets fly.

You can make Timbuktu the center of the art world if you spend enough money and do there a flashy biennial. It's all about money, art is just like any other business. Where the economy grows, more prestige provided by art is needed.

Damien Hirst said that "art is about life, the art market is about money" but the Australian artist Anthony White makes art about money. He sells his paintings for the amount painted on the canvas and then does the next painting with one unit higher amount. In the US dollar series the available work is now $145. I've reserved the one million dollar painting.

Last night, I watched the war film Pearl Harbor. I celebrated the triumph of Empire of Japan's 1st Air Fleet and didn't feel any sympathy for the American heroes.

I was tired of networking and the whole art world after Tokyo but on Wednesday Bert phoned me from Madrid and convinced me to go to Arco, he said it was boring there without me.

Everybody was speaking about Damien Hirst’s work - or prices- in Hilario Galguera’s booth The small dot paintings were €300.000, the bigger paintings €900.000 and the sculptures between 3 million and 6 million euros, everything sold in few hours. That kind of prices are enough to buy a good football player! For how much Ronaldo was transferred from Real Madrid to AC Milan few weeks ago? Would you prefer to have Ronaldo or a Damien?
